Jordan Christopher CD (DONA, CBI)
"My belief is that every woman deserves a safe and empowering birth experience, and therefore I provide information, support, and a wealth of compassion and sensitivity to each family I work with."
Jordan Christopher is a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and certified lactation counselor. Having studied holistic health and nutrition, as well as massage therapy, she has also taught and worked as a lifestyle coach in health institutions in Central America, Asia, and within the Continental U.S. After years of doing specialized work with Autistic and other developmentally delayed and disabled children, Jordan has made the transition into supporting women before, during, and after their births.
Beginning her doula journey in 2010, she trained as a birth and postpartum doula through DONA (Doulas or North America), and CBI (Childbirth International). She has completed advanced doula trainings with Debrah Pascali-Bonaro & Ina May Gaskin, and has certified as a lactation counselor. She has also had the privilege of training with midwives Katherine Bramhall and Robin Lim of the Bumi Sehat Birth Center in Bali, Indonesia.
She uses her various talents and experiences to aid women and their families before, during, and after their birth. She has supported over 250 families at home, in birthing centers, and in the hospital. She has supported women seeking an unmedicated childbirth, planning for an epidural, having a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), having twins & triplets, breech births, high risk births, as well as cesarean births.
Jordan loves to travel, explore new languages and cultures, and is a New York City native now settling into life in the Midwest with her quirky Cavalier Spaniel. She is always humbled and honored to be apart of each of her family’s birth experiences.
