Sometimes birth is perfect. Everything goes according to plan (or preferences, as we at IDA like to say) and women are left in a haze of happiness.
Sometimes, that doesn't happen. And while we might find the blessings in our outcomes, there might be certain aspects of our births that linger with us that need attention and healing. Discussing those aspects, and honoring how we might feel is something all deserve.
At a birth healing gathering, we can either start that healing journey, or continue it, surrounded by other mothers who understand, empathize and who have been there.
Babies in arms are welcome, but smaller children are best left with a loved one so attendees can focus on their stories and the stories of others.
Beverages and snacks included! And, of course, there is no fee.
Healing Circle will be led by Tamrha Richardson, Certified Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator and Sacred Postpartum Services provider who has had two birth outcomes she didn't plan on and who learned to not only heal, but grow from her experiences. Assisted by Jessica Reynolds-Milcinovic, Certified Birth Doula and proud mama of 5 beautiful children, who came to her through mixed stories of blessings and challenges, from Cesarean to VBAC to adoption. Healing and hope can come through many unexpected paths.
